Transavia to enter German domestic market

Transavia Airlines has announced it will enter the German domestic market with 12 weekly flights between Munich and Berlin Schönefeld to begin later this month.

Starting from May 30, the budget subsidiary owned by the Air France-KLM Group, will operate the route twice daily on weekdays and daily on weekends. The LCC will be the only carrier to operate the route from Schönefeld, as all other carriers operate Berlin-Munich using Berlin Tegel.

Even though Schönefeld is currently a major hub for EasyJet and Ryanair, neither of them has developed a big domestic German network out of Berlin.
