St Helena Airport has been certified

Yesterday good news was brought to the island when Air Safety Support International issued an Aerodrome Certificate to the newly constructed St Helena Airport. The ASSI concluded that all facilities at the airport were satisfactory and up to the current aviation safety standards after inspecting the airport last month.

This is a great achievement for the airport, however the certificate is only valid until November this year, when the airport will be inspected once again to be re-certified.

The airport is currently trying to fix the issues with wind shear and turbulence which were experienced by Comair during the implementation flight before scheduled flights begin later this month.
