A British Airways flight diverted to Iceland after a member of staff tried to kill himself

On May 11th, British Airways flight BA282 diverted to Reykjavik Keflavik airport after a man was found slumped on the toilet seat by his co-workers on the A380.

Several Hollywood executives bound for Cannes for the annual film festival were on the flight.

The man was given emergency medical treatment before the landing in Iceland early on Tuesday morning. The flight continued to London Heathrow departing Reykjavik two hours later.

The airline worker, believed to have been travelling as a passenger, was found “slumped on the toilet seat” after executive passengers noticed the cubicle had been locked for a long time.
