England’s flagship carrier British Airways has announced plans to launch two brand new direct routes to Doha, Qatar and Muscat, Oman.
The Doha and Bahrain services will operate daily with Boeing 787-9 aircraft, while the Muscat service will only be operated five times weekly.
In terms of competition, it will be interesting to see how Oman Air reacts to this new competitor. Also, as Oman Air and BA are flagship carrier, it will be interesting to find out who the winner of the price wars on these services will be.
On the Doha route, BA will also have competition from Qatar Airways which offers far more services fro, Heathrow to the Qatari capital. Whether BA will be able to survive the competition from the Middle East carriers is a big question.
