On Thursday evening, two Greek F16s intercepted a Delta Air Lines 767-400ER over the Mediterranean Sea after it did not identify itself after it entered Greek airspace. The aircraft was flying from Germany to Kuwait. Authorities are now investigating why the pilots did not identify themselves after appearing on Greek radar at 19:10.

Two F16s were dispatched at 19:38 and  intercepted the aircraft seven miles east of the island of Santorini a bit more than ten minutes later.
