Qatar Airways has started its service to Atlanta, the world’ most travelled airport, with a special one-off flight operated with the A380 and a media tour.
at the event held on Atlanta’s south cargo ramp, airport officials and media personnel toured the flagship aircraft. Airport Interim General Manager Roosevelr Council, who was appointed to his position two weeks ago, took in the sights and sounds of the A380 during his tour of the aircraft.
For future flights, the Qatari carrier will use gate F7 in Atlanta’s international concourse F and will be flown daily using a 777-200LR instead of the A380, which would provide a lot of operational challenges.
Atlanta is the 10th American destination in the United States and the lates in a wave of expansion for the growing Persian Gulf carrier. In addition to Atlanta, Qatar has begun service to Boston and Los Angeles in 2016.
