Between June 2 and June 4, American Airlines has begun operating new routes from six hubs to twenty destinations in its network.
As previously announced, American Airlines has added two new gates at Los Angeles and hired 200 extra team members to support nine new year-round and seasonal destinations and add frequencies to existing ones. With these new routes, American now operates 222 daily flights at LAX serving more than 70 destinations.
Interestingly, some of the new services launched include small cities, such as Bozeman. This highlights a shift in the US airline industry to the possibilities of the frontier of air services to smaller US cities, because low oil prices make this kind of operations financially feasible.
