A passenger on board a Cathay Pacific A350 rips the ceiling of the plane

A Cathay Pacific flight bound for Bangkok was delayed after drama ensued during boarding.

An
unidentified passenger, who was trying to find a space to stow his luggage, was disappointed that the configuration of the A350 he was on had no lockers above his seat.

Despite the flight attendants told him that they’d find space for his luggage elsewhere, the disgruntled passenger refused to believe them.

He then tries to open a ceiling panel, but rips it open with his bare hands, determined to find space for the luggage.

All he encountered was a hole in a roof and shock from the other passengers on board.

  1. Not at all surprised given that in this region, some pax have even tried to open the emergency exits for ‘fresh air’. The SCMP reports that he wasn’t punished and was allowed to travel on the flight.
I was recently on a Finnair A350 flight (admittedly in business class) & even without directions from the crew or signage, pax managed to twig that there was no overhead bin above the middle seats.
