Uzbekistan Airways has taken delivery of its first of two 787-8s on order from Boeing. UK78701 (MSN 38363) was ferried from Everett to Tashkent on Tuesday, August 30 and will be followed by MSN 38364 in November.
Crew familiarization flights between Tashkent, Urgench, Bukhara and Nukus will start on September 5th. Thereafter, the aircraft will eventually be used on the carrier’s flagship service between Tashkent and New York, which operates via Riga.
Uzbekistan Airways’ passenger fleet also includes seven B767-300ERs, nine A320-200s, six B757-200s and seven Il-114s.
