American Airlines has announced the arrival of its first B787-9 N820AL (MSN 40639) at Dallas/Forth Worth on September 13.
The Texas-based carrier plans to use the aircraft on its first revenue services on October 14 on domestic flights between its Dallas hub and Los Angeles.
Thereafter, the new plane will make its longhaul debut on November 3 on flights from Dallas to Madrid and São Paulo. Beforehand, the aircraft will undertake a validation flight on October 4 to London Heathrow as part of the long-range certification process.
The American carrier has twenty-one more B787-9a on order from Boeing, with the second one scheduled to arrive early next month.
The aircraft is configured with a total of 285 seats: thirty seats in Business Class, twenty-one in Premium Economy and 234 in regular Economy.
