Air Madagascar will resume operations to China early next year after suspending them in January because of low profitability.

According to Airline Route, effective February 12, 2017, the Malagasy national carrier will serve Guangzhou twice weekly using A340-300 aircraft.

Unlike in previous years, when the flight was operated via Bangkok, this service will run via St. Denis de La Réunion, in codeshare with Air Austral, which is expected to announce the codeshare soon.

At present, Air Madagascar does not have any local traffic rights on the St. Denis de La Réunion- Guangzhou service and vice versa.
