The Interstate Aviation Committee (IAC, also known as MAK) announced they are going to investigate the crash stating there were 32 fatalities (including the crew and victims on the ground) when the aircraft crashed into the residential area. Accident Investigators from the NTSB/USA (representing the designer and manufacturer of aircraft and engines) as well as from Turkey (representing the operator’s state and registry state of the aircraft) are going to join the investigation.

The investigators have also announced they have retrieved one of the two flight recorders, not letting know if it was the CVR (Cockpit Voice Recorder) or the FDR (Flight Data Recorder). The Government said rescue teams are searching for the second black box.
