Cargolux is still interested in creating a hub in Singapore

Cargolux has said that it is still interested in creating a hub in Singapore Changi, after recent reports in the Indonesian press linking it to a possible shift to Batam in Indonesia.

As reported by Air Cargo News, Cargolux said in a statement that while it would gain access to both Batam and Jakarta once a bilateral air service agreement between Luxembourg and Indonesia was formalized at the end of the year, it “had no current plan to operate to Batam Airport, nor to transfer any of its activities from Singapore to Batam or any other point in Indonesia”.

Any future operations to Indonesia would be evaluated on their “commercial merit and will be independent to existing and future operations to Singapore and other locations”, the airline added.
