Lufthansa will continue its growth in Germany by introducing new routes and extra capacity on existing routes strengthening its enormous presence at its Frankfurt and Munich hubs.
The airline will introduce two new routes from Frankfurt and Munich, one from each. The airline will serve San Diego from Frankfurt. The southern-Californian city will be served 5 times a week from the beginning of Summer 2018. Also starting at the beginning of summer 2018, the airline will be reintroducing flights to Singapore from Munich. It will also be served 5 times a week from the Bavarian hub. Flights from Munich to Chicago will also be increased from daily to 10 weekly,
Lufthansa operates 14 A380 aircraft, and next summer, 5 of these will be re-positioned to Munich to operate flights from there to Los Angeles, Hong Kong, and Beijing. This will create up to 500 new positions at their Bavarian hub.
