Speaking to The Wall Street Journal, Pinto said Airbus had confirmed the delay in the type’s arrival, originally scheduled for late 2017, saying they were due to “marginal” development delays at Rolls-Royce. The UK-based firm manufactures the Trent 7000 powerplant for the A330neo programme.

TAP is the A330neo’s launch operator with fourteen A330-900neo on firm order from the European manufacturer.
